Have a Ant infestation?
We are here to help
Ants (Family Fornicidae), closely related to bees and wasps, are social insects where the workers are usually much smaller than the queen and are always wingless. The Queen and males are winged for mating flight, but the queen loses her wings before starting a nest. Ants are usually active all year round except during the very coldest months.
Ants may carry disease organisms and contaminate food and sterile materials.
Ants evolved from wasp-like ancestors in the mid-Cretaceous period between 110 and 130 million years ago and diversified after the rise of flowering plants. Today, more than 12,500 species are classified with upper estimates of about 22,000 species.
